The Rev. Matthew A. Laferty, director of the Methodist Ecumencial Office Rome, received an ecumenical delegation from Finland on 20 March 2023 at Ponte Sant’Angelo Methodist Church in central Rome. The 32-person delegation was organized by the Finnish Ecumenical Council as a Lenten ecumenical pilgrimage in Rome. The delegation comprised pilgrims from different churches including 3 pilgrims from The United Methodist Church in Finland (pictured above). Finnish Ecumenical Council general secretary Rev. Mayvor Wärn-Rancken (center right) was among the Methodists in the group.
During the hour-long session, Director Laferty presented about MEOR’s work, international ecumenism, and Methodist-Catholic dialogue.
