The Rev. Matthew A. Laferty, director of the Methodist Ecumencial Office Rome, arranged an encounter between the Rev. Luca Anziani and Fr. Martin Browne OSB on Tuesday, 28 March 2023. Rev. Anziani is the president of the Methodist Churches in Italy. From October 2022, Fr. Browne is the official for relations with Methodists at the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity.
During the nearly one hour meeting, Rev. Anziani shared about the history of the Methodism in Italy, Italian Methodist ecumenical engagement, and relations between Italian Protestants and Catholics.
The encounter took place at the offices of the Methodist Churches in Italy at Via Firenze in central Rome.
